Objects to be painted with the Crackle Effect require a base coat of primer first then paint with the selected base color to show through the Crackle Effect. Let the base color dry at least 45 minutes but no more than 24 hours before applying Crackle Effect from a distance of six inches from the surface. After extensively and evenly applying Crackle Effect to your primed and painted surface, the distressing (cracking) process will begin to occur. For finest crackling results, apply to a completely dry base coat. If base coat is still wet when Crackle Effect is applied, the crackling effect will expand to a larger scale. Crackle Effect spray is high-covering and can be top-coated when completely dry and cured. For best results, use with Montana GOLD as the base coat.
